The Healthier Side of Grub Burger Bar
Summer’s on its way, and the supermarket tabloids are already running their who’s-who list of best beach bods. If those airbrushed photos are reminding you that it’s been awhile since you’ve hit the gym, worry not. You don’t have to live on kale juice in order to lighten up.
Lucky for you, Grub Burger Bar has so much more than burgers and shakes. Here’s a look at some of our healthier options.
Hippie Chickpea Burger
Ready for Meatless Monday (or Tuesday, or Wednesday…)? We’ve got you covered. We make our Hippie Chickpea patties with ground chickpeas and eggplant and serve them topped with roasted red pepper mayo, roasted red bell peppers, arugula, red onions, goat cheese and tabbouleh, all on a wheat bun.
Salmon Filet Bowl
Don’t tell the kids, but we found Dory. This high-protein bowl includes wild Alaskan salmon filet, chopped bacon, black bean and corn medley, lettuce, campari tomatoes, sprouts, queso fresco and ancho lime vinaigrette.
California Chicken Bowl
For a taste of the West Coast, this bowl combines grilled chicken breast, chopped bacon, black bean and corn medley, lettuce, campari tomatoes, sprouts, queso fresco and ancho lime vinaigrette.
If you haven’t had these lean, mean greens since the last time your mom bribed you to eat them, then it’s time to give ours a try. This tasty side features roasted Brussels sprouts tossed in ancho lime vinaigrette and topped with queso fresco.
Black Bean & Charred Corn Medley
Not a salad person? Try this on for size: black beans and charred corn with red onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño and fresh lime juice. It’s the perfect Tex meets Mex situation.
Our version of this Middle Eastern fave gets its fresh flavor from chopped mint and parsley, bulgur wheat, tomatoes, cucumber and lemon juice. It’s delicious on its own or as a topping.
