If you’ve read The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, not only are you more cultured and intellectual than most of your friends, but you’ll also be excited about Grub’s newest Market item.
As you already know, the book tells the story of a French man imprisoned under false charges in the early 19th century. If you don’t already know, not only does he escape, he discovers the lost treasure of Monte Cristo, becomes a count and gets revenge on everyone who wronged him.
What does this have to do with burgers? Well, we’re actually still figuring that out for ourselves. The Count of Monte Cristo took place in France, and the original Monte Cristo is a fried ham and cheese sandwich, a variation of the French croque-monsieur. (That’s French for Mr. Croquet, we presume?)
For almost a century, there have been quite a few variations on this classic sandwich. They were good and all, but we at Grub Burger Bar thought it was time for a major upgrade.
Introducing the Mighty Monte Cristo! It’s got our signature beef patty topped with Black Forest ham, Swiss cheese and American cheese, all deep-fried and topped with powdered sugar and a side of raspberry jam. Oh, and a side of fries. And yes, we said deep-fried.
All for just $6.95 (unless it’s our Midland or California location: $7.95).
“Burger” may be in our name, but you know we’re all about that shake life, too. Something about them just reminds us of being a kid.
In the spirit of childhood bliss, we doubled down on our newest Market shake. Introducing our Cocoa Puff Brownie Malt. It’s got brownies, Cocoa Puffs and chocolate malt topped with Cocoa Puffs, chocolate sprinkles and a brownie.
You’d almost think we let one of our kids make it. (Maybe we did. You’ll never know!)
Monte Cristos and Cocoa Puffs. That’s what Grub does.
Come try out our exciting new Market items, but only for a limited time. See you soon!
And now it’s fall — or, as we like to think of it, our reward for making it through the year’s first nine overhyped months. (Sorry, we’re still sizzling from that scorching summer. Still a little upset about it, TBH.)
Now that you know how much Grub loves fall, it’s no surprise that we celebrate it in the only way we know how. We’re talking a full fall food overload!
So we’re proud to introduce our two new fall-centered, foodie-loving menu items: the Stuffing Your Face Sandwich and Pecan Pie Shake. Where to start?
Have you ever combined the entire Thanksgiving spread into one heavenly sandwich? Well, we’ve done that homework for you. Behold: shaved smoked turkey, swiss cheese, cranberry mayo, brown gravy and French fried onions on homemade stuffing bread. THIS is the Thanksgiving meal you wish you’d had to begin with.
Anyway, there is one bad thing about Thanksgiving. It’s only one meal. But not at Grub this fall. You could have the Stuffing Your Face Sandwich for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wanted.
We’re not going to wade into the whole pronunciation debate (pee-can versus pee-cahn) but we will go on record and say that our Pecan Pie Shake is as good as Mom makes. Unless your Mom is, you know, bad at making pie — or just food in general. Then maybe your Grandma?
Your family tree aside, Pecan Pie is one of the defining flavors of the season. Our shake comes topped with a luscious caramel drizzle that will have you wishing you hadn’t filled up on all of those Stuffing Your Face Sandwiches beforehand. (Pace yourself, friend!) It’s been a long year after all. You deserve to stuff your face.
Not that we’re suggesting you have your Thanksgiving meal with us — after all, we’ll be making the trip over the river and through the woods to celebrate the holiday with our own Grandma, if not Mary-Kate and Ashley’s — but you certainly can celebrate fall all fall long at your nearest Grub Burger Bar. So pull out those scarves and earmuffs, adorn yourself with your finest plaid something, light those Pumpkin Spice candles and try our newest menu items, available for a limited time only.
When you think of Grub, what comes to mind? Burgers and fries and chicken tenders and salads and shakes and beer and yes, even Brussels sprouts and tabouleh, right?
We thought that’s what you were thinking.
But there’s more to us than that. It’s not just chorizo queso, mac n’ cheese with bacon and ahi tuna bowls round the clock here. (Actually, it is a lot of that, but we digress…)
This October, when you think of Grub, think pink.
We’re very honored to announce that we’re teaming up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All month long, your favorite burger bar (that’s us) will be serving a very special Pink Velvet Shake. And it’s very special because we’ll be donating $1 from the proceeds of every Pink Velvet Shake sale to Dine Out for the Cure®, benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
According to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, one in eight women are affected by breast cancer every year in the United States. That’s why we’re taking our initiative nationwide in support of the SGK cause, which provides grants and funding toward breast cancer research.
Our founder, Jimmy Loup, wants diners to know just how much this cause matters to the Grub family. “We’re a part of the neighborhood, and that means we’re here to help,” he says. “We always enjoy supporting local organizations through initiatives like our buns benefiting for community causes, auction donation items and our Grub Gives Back Program.”
It’s pretty simple. You love our delicious shakes, right? Then pick up one of our Pink Velvet Shakes today — or two, or three, or four for the whole gang — and that’s $1, or $2, or $3 or even $4 you’ll be donating to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Now that’s one tasty way to pitch in.
So, instead of thinking of us as Jive Turkey Salads and cheese fries and Black Bean & Charred Corn Medleys (rather specific, but okay), think of us as one groovy place where you can help support those leading the fight against breast cancer. With hope and dedication, together we can beat this disease for good.
Stop in today at your nearest Grub Burger Bar to try our new Pink Velvet Shake, but only for a limited time.
Summer’s just about over, and that can mean only one thing.
Well, yes, school’s back in session, but that’s not…
Okay, yes, football’s about to start but…
Yes, we know Bachelor in Paradise is almost over too…
Okay, sure, summer’s farewell means a few things! Now, what were we saying? Oh, right.
September is here, and that can mean only one thing at Grub — our newest LTO is here, too. (No, not the boy band who likes girls that wear Abercrombie & Fitch. That’s LFO.) Our latest Market Items do have us pretty jazzed up though. And we’re even more excited to you to get in on the action before it’s over and done.
“Tell us already! The suspense is killing me!” Yes, we can hear you through your computer, tablet or mobile device.
First of all, take a deep breath. Chances are your coworkers are starting to give you some serious side-eye. But menu items like this deserve a big build-up, okay? So, with a bit more further ado, let’s pull back the curtain.
Why don’t we start the show with dessert? (That’s how we roll sometimes. Sorry, Mom.) Seeing as it’s 2018 and you’ve been around the baking block a few times, we’re going to guess you’ve heard of Red Velvet. Ah, yes. The cake that quickly evolved into a cupcake, then a cookie, a brownie, a waffle, french toast, a crepe, and finally into an impressive concoction called a ganache trifle.
Well, now it’s time for our take. Introducing our Red Velvet Shake. Picture Red Velvet cake. Okay, you picturing it? Great, now imagine it in a smooth, frozen and drinkable form. Yep, it’s real, and it’s oh-so-delicious. Seeing as we’re kind of known for our one-of-a-kind shakes, this uniquely chocolatey indulgence will fit right in.
And let us stop you right there. We know you’re thinking it.
Yes, you can have a burger with that shake.
Behold the all-new Mama Meatball. No, it’s not just one ginormous meatball. And no, it’s not just for moms, although we’re sure mom would love it, too.
This mouthwatering sandwich features handmade meatballs, roasted garlic tomato sauce, spinach and mozzarella, all piled on a fresh white hoagie. Mama mia! We bet you weren’t expecting that.
And you thought summer ending was a bad thing? Pshh. The party’s just getting started at Grub. And we only throw the best kinds of parties. The kinds with Red Velvet in their shakes and meatballs in their buns.
So, what are you waiting for? This shake/burger combo is only available at your local Grub through October. Order up!
Sweet dreams are made of… Grub? With apologies to Annie Lennox, who are we to disagree? And because we believe dreams can come true, we’re announcing an amazing batch of new additions to the menu.
The lazy days of summer are just made for daydreaming. Make a Midsummer Lunch’s (or Dinner’s) Dream come true with our Spinach Artichoke Chicken Sandwich. This farmers market-inspired stack features a premium grilled chicken breast topped with queso fresco artichoke lemon pesto and crispy potato strings on a bed of creamed spinach, all served on a wheat bun.
And for a new take on a summer classic, the Dreamsicle Shake is here. We take orange ice cream, top it with whipped cream and garnish with an orange Dreamsicle. Dreamy? The dreamiest.
These are only available in July and August, so be sure to hurry in to avoid any shattered dreams.
The first is the Wagyu Burger. We take a hand-formed Wagyu patty, season it with kosher salt and black pepper, and then top with Swiss cheese, Roasted garlic A1 aioli, marinated grilled tomato, arugula, Swiss cheese and French fried onions. It’s cooked medium rare — i.e., to dreamy perfection — and served on a freshly baked white bun.
Next is the Blazin’ Chicken Sandwich. It’s a crispy fried-chicken sandwich smothered in blazin’ hot sauce, pickle aioli, more pickles and red cabbage slaw, all on a freshly baked white bun. What’s that you say? The stuff of dreams? We think so, too.
For those dreaming of the perfect light lunch, there’s the Ahi Tuna Bowl. We sear slices of delicious Ahi tuna and toss it together with chopped bacon, black bean and charred corn medley, lettuce, Campari tomatoes, avocado, queso fresco, sprouts and ancho lime vinaigrette.
Finally, the Southern Fried Chicken Club has got crispy fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, chipotle aioli, smoked Applewood bacon and pepper jack cheese. It’s a dream on a freshly baked white bun.
Can’t stop dreaming about these new Market and menu items? We’ll be here at Grub waiting for you whenever you’re ready to make those dreams a reality.
Helloooooo, summer! For a while it seemed like you weren’t going to get here, so we had Chef Cliff Wright get to work creating a little somethin’ somethin’ to bring about the feel of our favorite season. And wouldn’t you know it? As soon as he perfected his recipes, here you are!
So, are we saying that Grub Burger Bar knows how to beat the heat? Maybe not, but we’re definitely taking credit anyway. And we think you’ll agree when you try our new May/June Market items.
First up is the Cuban Sandwich. This boss hog features citrus-braised pork, ham, melted Swiss, caramelized onion mustard and pickles on our homemade garlic bread. As always, we use the most primo of primo ingredients. And at just $6.50 per sammy, you can’t afford not to give it a whirl.
Next: the Bananas Foster Shake, our take on the classic dessert from the Big Easy. Rich and creamy, we top ours with fresh sliced bananas and silky caramel sauce. Decadence has never been sweeter.
Try them together for the ultimate summery combo, and make it snappy! These temptations won’t be around forever.
But that’s OK. Check back later to see what other tricks Chef Cliff has up his sleeve. We’re not going to give you any hints, but we can guarantee it’ll be delicious.
Here’s to a great summer — and it all starts with a great Memorial Day weekend! Order online at order.grubburgerbar.com or through the GrubLove app (points!) and get your party order to-go. See you at your local Grub!
At Grub Burger Bar, we’d like to think we have this #adulting thing pretty much down pat. We remember to schedule our dental cleanings, we make sure the kids eat a hearty breakfast, and we’re pretty good about striking that work/life balance. Heck, some of us have even learned to fold a fitted sheet. (Thanks, Martha!)
Not to mention that one of the hallmarks of growing older — and wiser — is the ability to embrace new things with real enthusiasm. That means expanding our palates, and we can think of no better way to do so than by trying our limited-time Market Burgers and Shakes.
First up is our Ahi Tuna Burger. We form the patty using fresh, hand-chopped ahi tuna, then top it with our special cucumber avocado dressing, fresh cucumbers, arugula, house-pickled red onions and crunchy sprouts. A hearty wheat bun only adds to the yum factor.
OK, so maybe seafood isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word “burger.” But it’s perfect for both the adults and the #adulting crowd who are committed to giving up something between Mardi Gras and Sunday, April 1. For that matter, our Ahi Tuna Burger is a great choice for anyone looking to lighten up the ol’ diet in anticipation of Spring Break or put a little extra spring in their step. Hey, you went healthy when you didn’t have to. It’s OK to give yourself some props. Knowing when to show respect is a big part of #adulting.
Of course, another hallmark of growing older is knowing when not to take yourself too seriously. Enter our Cookie Butter Crunch Shake. Blended with cookie butter and Cap’n Crunch cereal, it’s a sweet treat guaranteed to bring back memories of the unbridled joy dessert used to evoke as well as Saturday mornings spent watching cartoons. (Alas, there’s no plastic prize in the bottom of the cup.)
So could it be that grabbing some Grub is the most grown-up thing you could do during your day? Maybe not, but, then again, maybe the best part of #adulting is doing what you want.
We’ll be waiting for you.
At Grub Burger Bar, we take pride in taking old notions and turning them on their head, one delicious menu item at a time. That’s why our bimonthly Market Menu items are so much fun.
Consider, if you will, the good old burger-and-fries. Whether someone hands you your order from the drive-thru window or brings it to your table at one of those fancy establishments, you pretty much know what you’re getting. That’s a beef patty on a bun beside a heap of that goodness that comes only from potatoes taking a bath in hot oil. But our OMG Burger breaks down the wall separating the two halves of this classic combo.
You read that right.
We take a juicy beef patty, smother it with homemade Texas chili, pile on the skinny fries, cover it up with chorizo queso and then top the whole thing with a lightly toasted bun. There’s no need to tell us whether you’d like fries with that.
Of course, if you do want some fries served up alongside your OMG Burger, we’re more than happy to oblige. But we’d be remiss in not mentioning some other amazing Grub sides, such as our Onion Rings, Sweets (as in “waffle-cut sweet potato fries”), Mac ‘N’ Cheese, Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Black Bean & Charred Corn Medley. There’s a lot to love going on here — seriously.
As always, we hope you’ll save room for dessert. Currently on spesh is our Turtle Brownie Shake, blended with real homemade brownie, chopped pecans and generous swirls of both caramel and chocolate. Because, when you’re shaking things up on the griddle, sometimes you need to bring things back down to earth. What better way than with a classic shake?
Just don’t wait too long to give these two new items a try. The OMG Burger and Turtle Brownie Shake will be available only through the end of February. Visit your local Grub today!
At Grub Burger Bar, we make it our mission to be extraordinary. That’s why we’re always working to bring you new menu items using the very best ingredients available. Luckily, our creative chefs are always scouting new flavor profiles and possibilities.
And so when it was time to introduce a new Market burger and shake for September and October, we decided that the best way to fill a tall order was with a tall order — literally.
This fall, we’re proud to introduce two vertically blessed Market Items.
First up is the Wagyu Burger. We take a hand-formed Wagyu patty and lightly season it with kosher salt and black pepper. Then we top that bad boy with Havarti, roasted garlic aioli, spinach, marinated grilled tomatoes and French-fried onions and serve it on a flax and chia-seed bun.
Big taste? You bet. But this is also one big burger. For best results, we don’t recommend eating this one on the go. Sit down and take your time to enjoy it. Trust us, you’ll need it.
Next up is the Red Velvet Cupcake Shake. It’s everything you love about red velvet cupcakes in a shake! We take half of a delicious red velvet cupcake and blend it into a shake, then top it with whipped cream and the other half of that cupcake. It’s rich, creamy and sure to satisfy that sweet tooth. With the toppings piled on so high, this is one dessert you’ll need to save a little extra room for.
Are you a GrubLove user? If so, we’re giving you FREE fries & a drink when you purchase our new Wagyu burger. (One time offer per GrubLove member. Expires October 31st.) And remember: you can refer your buddies numerous times in the app for 20 points that you get after they make a purchase.
Can’t wait to taste these new menu items? Don’t forget that you can order ahead and skip the lines by using our GrubLove app. But don’t put it off. These tall orders will be around for only a short time.
Summer is finally in full swing, and with it comes new opportunities for fun in the sun as well as nostalgia for years past. But you don’t have to warble about those “summer niiiiiiiii-iiiiiiiights.” Grub has you covered with a couple of tasty new market menu items that are guaranteed to stir up some of those wonderful memories… and maybe help you make some new ones to look back on later.
But you’ll want to get here fast — these items are available only for a limited time in July & August.
Our new Brezel & Wurst is a German-inspired pretzel and sausage sandwich. You get a house-made sausage topped with peppers, onions, provolone and Dijonaise served on a made-from-scratch salted pretzel bun. Relive that summer studying abroad, or just enjoy the Old World flavors of this tasty ‘wich. Danke and bitte, right?
Next up, we’re bringing back our Sandlot shake and lighting it on fire. Made with burnt marshmallow syrup, graham cracker crumbs and mini chocolate chips and garnished with a Hershey’s bar and a burnt marshmallow, this sweet treat will have you remembering big adventures and childhood best friends. You’re killin’ me, Smalls!
Here’s to another great summer at Grub Burger Bar.
